Cabinets should be designed around verified appliance information, not around a product category such as “standard oven” or “large refrigerator.” The exact model controls the opening, door movement, ventilation, connections and service access. Freeze that information before the cabinet drawing is approved for production.

Build one appliance schedule
For every appliance, record the manufacturer, complete model reference, installation type, product dimensions, required opening, door or drawer movement, ventilation provisions, power or fuel, water and waste connections, and the location of isolation and service access. Attach the current installation document rather than copying selected dimensions into an email.
| Appliance | Cabinet and room questions | Information to lock |
|---|---|---|
| Refrigerator or freezer | Door and drawer pull-out, adjacent wall or handle conflict, ventilation path, levelling and removal route. | Exact model, hinge or opening direction, panel-ready requirements if any, service position and required surrounding conditions. |
| Oven or microwave | Opening height, adjacent front and handle exposure, ventilation, electrical connection and access for removal. | Exact model and combination arrangement, manufacturer opening detail, connection and isolation location. |
| Cooking and extraction | Worktop cut-out, cabinet below, extraction route, wall or ceiling interface and safe clearances. | Cooktop and hood models, current installation instructions, duct or recirculation decision and responsible local installer. |
| Dishwasher | Door and plinth movement, panel arrangement, hose route, shut-off access and relationship to sink storage. | Model, integrated or exposed front, connection points and service/removal plan. |
Reconcile the schedule with the cabinet drawing
- At concept stage: use realistic candidate equipment and mark every item that is still provisional.
- Before quotation is fixed: check whether changes in model, finish or local supply affect cabinet fronts, fillers, ventilation or site work.
- Before production approval: place the final schedule revision beside the cabinet plan and elevations. Resolve every model reference and opening.
- Before installation: confirm equipment availability, delivery sequence, site connections and which party installs, connects, tests and warrants each appliance.
A later appliance substitution is a design change even when the new item has a similar advertised capacity. Recheck the manufacturer’s installation instructions, the cabinet opening, front alignment, services and access before accepting it.
Define the responsibility at every connection
GEORGE Group is planning cabinetry on this page; it is not offering appliances as the page subject. The project should name who purchases the equipment, confirms local compliance, prepares electricity, gas, water, waste and extraction, installs and connects the equipment, and handles service after handover. Cabinet information should not be treated as electrical, plumbing, gas or ventilation approval.
If an appliance cannot be selected early, agree a provisional envelope and a deadline for final model confirmation. Record the risk that a later choice may require cabinet, worktop, service or price changes.
Prepare the information for an appliance-coordinated cabinet plan
Send the room plan, cabinet layout if available, appliance schedule, current manufacturer installation documents, service locations and the name of the local responsible trades. Identify which appliances are confirmed, ordered, reusable or still provisional. The kitchen overview handles the full-room layout; the kitchen-island page handles movement and services around an island. This page handles model-specific equipment interfaces.
Start an appliance-integration enquiry. Include the project location, plan, model list, installation documents and the party responsible for local services and final site verification.
