An outdoor kitchen cabinet is defined by exposure, heat, equipment, drainage and fixing conditions. A cabinet pictured outdoors does not prove suitability for every climate or installation. Record the actual environment before selecting construction and finish.

Classify the exposure
- Fully roofed, partly sheltered or directly exposed to rain and sun.
- Temperature range, freeze conditions, humidity, salt or pool environment and prevailing wind.
- Standing-water risk, floor fall, drainage and splash from cleaning or weather.
- Dust, leaves, insects and maintenance access during periods of non-use.
- Base slab, wall or frame construction and the approved fixing method.
The project specification must connect these conditions to materials, finish, hardware, seals, ventilation and maintenance. No weather, corrosion or fire rating is claimed from the images alone.

Coordinate heat, water and equipment
- Provide grill, burner, oven, refrigerator, sink and other selected model specifications.
- Record required non-combustible zones, ventilation, service clearances and manufacturer installation instructions.
- Identify who designs gas, electricity, water, waste and any extraction or fire-safety measures.
- Set worktop, cut-out, drainage, splash and waterproofing responsibilities.
- Keep valves, connections, filters and equipment removable for service.

Built-in or modular?
A built-in arrangement can integrate with architecture and worktops but increases site-interface and sequencing demands. A modular arrangement can simplify sections or future change, but still needs a level base, safe connections, wind and movement control, and coordinated equipment. The right choice depends on the site, climate, service strategy and maintenance plan.
Prepare the outdoor brief
Send the site plan, photographs, shelter and orientation, climate and exposure notes, floor and fixing conditions, equipment models, service locations, worktop and adjacent construction, destination, maintenance expectation and responsible local trades.
Confirm exposure and equipment before selecting outdoor cabinets
Share the site and appliance evidence so the project can verify materials, interfaces and responsibilities for the actual outdoor condition.
