Cabinet Budget and Quote Scope

Two cabinetry quotations are comparable only when they describe the same rooms, cabinet quantity, construction, finishes, fittings and project services. A lower total may reflect a smaller package, a different material basis or responsibilities left to the buyer.

GEORGE Group has no piece-count minimum as a general B2B reference, while the stated minimum order value is USD 18,000. Five working days for a quotation and validity usually of 30 days are also general references. Applicability, scope, timing, currency and validity are confirmed in the actual quotation.

Normalize the scope before comparing price

Begin with one room and cabinet schedule, then ask each proposal to identify inclusions, exclusions and assumptions against it. Separate product from site services and logistics so work is not silently moved to the buyer, contractor or consignee.

Where a choice is open, request a named option. Keep one base material and hardware basis, then show alternative fronts, internal accessories or worktops separately.

Scope lines that commonly change a cabinetry total
Scope line What to compare Question to settle
Quantity and geometry Rooms, cabinet references, fillers, panels, plinths and special shapes Do drawings and quotation count the same items?
Construction and finish Carcass, fronts, exposed panels, finish, edges and grain direction Which sample controls each visible surface?
Hardware and storage Hinges, runners, handles, lift systems, baskets, lighting and accessories Are brands, grades, quantities and substitutions identified?
Worktops and wet interfaces Worktop, splashback, cut-outs, basins, taps, sealing and templates Who supplies, templates, cuts and installs each item?
Design and approvals Concepts, detailed drawings, revisions, samples and approval rounds What deliverables and change limits are included?
Packing and transport Packing, labels, freight, insurance, customs, duties and final delivery What delivery basis, place and risk point apply?
Measurement and installation Final measure, unloading, storage, installation and adjustment Which party performs and pays for each task?
After-sales basis Issue reporting, replacement, labour, transport and exclusions Which written project terms apply?

Treat budget as a set of priorities

Identify what must remain and what can be reconsidered. Layout, quantity, finish, hardware, fittings, delivery and installation affect value differently. Do not sacrifice an essential clearance to preserve a decorative option without review.

A useful alternative states what changes and what stays constant, plus the effect on specification, interfaces, maintenance, price and timing.

Check the commercial basis

  • Currency, taxes, duties, payment stages and exact validity period.
  • Named delivery location and delivery basis. Commercial projects generally use CIF and residential projects may use DDP, but actual costs and responsibilities are project-specific.
  • Change treatment if drawings, quantities, appliances, finishes, destination or timing change.
  • Responsibility for unloading, storage, final measurement, installation, services, adjustments and remedial work.
  • Document priority if drawing, schedule and quotation conflict.

Request a comparable cabinetry quotation

Include the information that is known and label open items instead of guessing.

  • Current room, unit and cabinet schedule linked to drawings.
  • Construction, finish, hardware and accessory basis.
  • Appliance, fixture, service and worktop interfaces.
  • Delivery country, named destination, access and preferred delivery basis.
  • Required design, samples, measurement, installation and after-sales scope.
  • Budget priorities and separately priced alternatives.

Request a like-for-like cabinetry scope discussion. Send the location, rooms, drawing revision, services and scope lines to show separately. Price and conditions will be set by the project quotation.
